The first night of Hanukkah was heralded earlier this week in the streets of the Inland Valley with a parade of twenty-five Hummers equipped with electric menorahs lead by a vintage 1955 Buick CHP car.

The parade on Tuesday night not only was an announcement that the Jewish Festival of Lights had arrived. It was a public celebration and commemoration of freedom.

"Hanukkah is a universal message, not only for Jews but also non-Jews," said Rabbi Sholom Harlig of Chabad of the Inland Empire, which organized the event
